Clarenyx: How the Score Works

What does your score mean — and why does it matter?

The Clarenyx score gives you a quick way to understand how well your page meets key technical and visibility signals used by search engines and AI tools.

It's not a random grade — it's based on how many of the most important checks your page passes.

How the audit score is calculated

A Score out of 100 — Not a Guess

The number you see (like 78/100) is a percentage of the total points your page can earn across 12 key areas. Each check has a different level of importance — so some things matter more than others.

Pass, Warn, Fail — What They Mean

Each check gives your page one of three results:

  • Pass — You meet the standard. Full points awarded.
  • Warn — You're close, but something's missing. Partial points (60%).
  • Fail — You're missing a key element. No points awarded.

Small improvements can shift you from a warning to a pass — and that can boost your score noticeably.

Weighted for What Matters Most

Not every check counts the same. Here's how we prioritise:

Area Importance
Robots / IndexabilityVery high
Title & Meta TagsHigh
Headings & LinksHigh
Word Count / ContentMedium
HTTPS & CanonicalMedium
Image ALT TextMedium
Social Tags (OG)Lower

This means fixing a missing <title> tag will help you more than tweaking your Open Graph image.

A Few Smarter Tweaks Behind the Scenes

Some checks aren't just pass/warn/fail — they scale:

  • Image ALT text — More coverage = better score.
  • Social tags — Partial tags = partial credit.
  • Internal links — External-only links are counted less.
  • Robots — A "noindex" tag instantly drops the visibility score to zero — even if everything else looks fine.

This helps reflect how real search engines and AI models interpret a page.

What's Not in the Score

Things like domain age, or summaries like AEO, GEO, and LLMO don't count toward the number. They're advisory — useful context, but not part of the 100-point total.

Why Use This Score?

  • It's transparent — no black-box grading.
  • It reflects real-world SEO signals.
  • It helps you prioritise what actually moves the needle.
  • You can track improvements over time.

Reminder

Clarenyx does not guarantee search rankings. The score is a guide to help you improve discoverability and technical quality — the foundations of visibility in both traditional search and AI-based systems.
